    • Jacques Gallet father, residing in Martinique, probably settled in Capesterre (Trinité?), Addressed from this island, from the village of Saint-Pierre, a letter dated 1.9.1696 to Mademoiselle "Thierselin", from Nantes, which was seized by the English and kept in London in the fonds of the High Court of the Admiralty (Cf. Public Record Office, London, PT1, HCA32 / 1326). To this person who seemed responsible for the education of his nephew in France, he recommended that he "do what he will need for his advancement provided he is an honest man and also asked him to teach him how to make weapons during a few months which is very necessary in this country, ... ".

      One of the principal inhabitants of the parish of Trinité as it appears on a document established in Martinique in 1700 (Cf. AN Colonies C / 8a / 39, f ° 58), he had of his wife of which we do not know the name, at least one son: [1]
