He Was Preceded In Death By His Son, Harry Numa Charbonnet, Jr.; His Parents: Paul George Charbonnet And Helen Mcenerny; His Brother, Paul G. Charbonnet, Jr.; His Sister, Helen Charbonnet Childress; And His Son-In-Law, Lindsay Lee Ward. He Is Also Survived By His Son-In-
Law, John J. (Jack) Dardis; And Daughters-In-Law: Sylvia Boos Charbonnet Riera, Susan Lawrence Charbonnet, Michelle Ramsey Charbonnet And Delsa Briede Charbonnet.
Also Survived By Twenty-Three Grandchildren And Twelve Great Grandchildren. He Was 85. Mr. Charbonnet Was A Lifelong Resident Of New Orleans, La. He Graduated From Holy Name Of Jesus School And Jesuit High School. He Received A Ba From Loyola University And His Law Studies There Were Interrupted By World War II During Which He Served As A Lieutenant In The US Naval Air Service As A Dive Bomber. He Received
His Juris Doctor Degree From Loyola University In 1948. Always Devoted To The Catholic Church And The Archdiocese Of New Orleans, He Was Instrumental In Founding The Serra Club Of New Orleans, Fostering Vocations To The Priesthood And Religious Life. He Served As Its Charter Member And President. He Was President Of The Nocturnal Adoration Society, A Member Of The Lectors Society And Parish Council Of The Most Holy Name Of Jesus Parish Where He Was A Daily Communicant, And Served As A Eucharistic Minister. He Chaired Various Committees For His Parish Including The
Campaign To Build Holy Name Convent And Establish Mercy Academy. He Was Chairman And Organizer Of The First Archbishop's Community Appeal And Of The Program To Fund
The Archdiocesan Spiritually Center As Well As Vice Chairman Of The Finance Committee And Member Of The Executive Committee For The Papal Visit Commission In 1986-1987. He Was Conferred A Papal Honor Knight Of St. Gregory And Served On Many Archdiocesan Boards Including The Catholic Foundation, Bethlehem House Of Bread, St. Elizabeth's Home For Girls, The Food For Seniors Program, Wwl Radio And Tv
Stations, Sara Mayo Hospital, Immaculate Conception Church, Xavier University, Mt. Carmel Academy, Academy Of The Sacred Heart, Christian Brother's School And Manresa Retreat House As A Group Captain. Loyola University Merited Much Of His Attention. He Was Chairman Of The Board Of Regents And In 1987 Was Honored With Their Adjutor Hominum Award For The Outstanding Alumnus Who Exemplifies Integrity, Moral
Character And Service To Humanity. Relatives And Friends Of The Family Are Invited To Attend The Funeral.
