Died:
- Elizabeth S. Robert passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Monday evening February 15, surrounded by family at Forest Manor in Covington, Louisiana. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Betty's parents were the late Marie de Jaham Stewart and Seymour J. Stewart. She was pre-deceased by her infant son Michael, and her sisters, Sallie, Doris, and Margaret. Betty grew up in New Orleans and lived in Hammond, Louisiana for the last 56 years. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in New Orleans and Maryville College in St. Louis, Missouri (Class of 52). After college, she was the Society Editor for a local Monroe, Louisiana paper before marrying Hulin J. Robert and becoming Mom to their children. Betty was an artist for pleasure and loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, reading, Bridge, Scrabble and living a simple life. Betty is survived by her sister Zelia S. Lebeau, seven of her children and their spouses: Robin R. Birdsong (Edmond), David B. (Jo Lynn), Nancy R. DeVries (Robert), Philip S., Martha M., Nolan J. (Kim), and Remy P. (Jessica), 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 12:00PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM. The burial service will be at Metairie Cemetery immediately following.
