Paul St. Pierre, one of the best-known citizens of Jefferson Parish, died yesterday morning after a lingering illness. For the past twenty years he has been a lock superintendent of Harvey's Canal, and assistant secretary of the Merchants and Planters' Ferry Company for the same length of time. His wife, who was Miss Ophelia Marie Harvey, died nine years ago. He is survived by two sons, Nicholas and Herbert; three sisters and three brothers. Mr. St. Pierre was a member of the Woodmen, Maccabees, Red men, the Young Men's Benevolent Association and other organizations. The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o'clock, with the Woodmen in charge.
